Fresh off the heels of his sensational Pre-Fall 2024 showcase in Hong Kong, Pharrell Williams returns with yet another captivating presentation for his latest collection. Marking the inaugural event of Paris Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2024 season, Pharrell transports the audience to the prestigious Fondation Louis Vuitton (PARIS:MC.PA +1.94%) to unveil his third show for the iconic fashion house.

In keeping with the theme of LVERS — an artistic bridge connecting Virginia and Paris — Pharrell continues to elevate the standards. Let’s not overlook Pharrell’s debut show that drew pop culture luminaries and the memorable Hong Kong presentation set against the breathtaking skyline, culminating in a mesmerizing drone show. Leading up to the event, Pharrell tantalized fans on his Skateboard Instagram page with glimpses of cowboy Western motifs, featuring everything from cowboy hats adorned with the distinctive LVERS moniker to monogrammed Timbaland boots. Pharrell seems intent on infusing American and hip-hop influences into the realm of high fashion. The show invitation even included a harmonica, a quintessential accessory associated with the cowboy image.

The runway unfolds with Country and Western motifs, as Pharrell delves deeper into the roots of the American Western wardrobe. Anchored in the essence of travel, the collection explores the origins of workwear, seamlessly transforming it into the savoir-faire of Louis Vuitton. Through meticulous craftsmanship and intricate embroidery techniques, the collection showcases key iconography of American Western attire. Pharrell pays homage to the intrinsic workwear of the American Western wardrobe by amplifying denim tropes, blanket coats, Buffalo Check patterns, and chaps rooted in the cowboy aesthetic. The Louis Vuitton style evolves with the American Western dandy, featuring cowboy shirts and workwear silhouettes embellished with beading and ornamentation.

Embracing the American Western theme, the collection collaborates with artists from the Dakota and Lakota nations, influencing accessories, the show’s staging, and the soundtrack. Spearheaded by creative director Dee Jay Two Bears of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the collaboration extends to a Speedy bag, messenger bag, and travel tote adorned with Dakota Flower symbolism. Staying true to the American workwear aesthetic, the Timberland collaboration reinterprets iconic work boots through the creative lens of Louis Vuitton. From cowboy hats to leather caps and gloves embellished with buckles and gems embodying the prairie dandy, the collection presentation is complemented by performers from the Native Voices of Resistance. Naturally, Pharrell lends his touch to the unique soundtrack, featuring original pieces such as “The Spirit of Saturday Night Live” by the Native Voices of Resistance x Pharrell Williams, “Good People” by Mumford & Sons and Pharrell, and “Shotgun Wedding” by Pharrell and Jelly Roll, along with “Doctor” by Pharrell and Miley Cyrus.
